Eye of Napoleon

The lighthouse, a lookout, keeping an ever-watchful eye over Napoleon’s homeland. Yet along these shores conquest never came. Mankind builds, and rebuilds. Staking out land. Rising and falling and building anew, but their time is borrowed. They occupy the land which will outlast them all. We are but visitors and time stretches and flows without end, like the vanished horizon, blurring the sea and sky endlessly.
